The Gateway Summer Camp, for the past 5 years has offered affordable educational summer enrichment that spans the a school districts entire summer break. Our summer camp runs 10-11 weeks; this provides families with what we call the, “Continuity of Routine” preventing the disruption of their day to day lives due unaffordable and unobtainable educational options.
Our summer camp was designed to serve parents and students alike. It was design with working families in mind, an often time forgotten about demographic of families, who make too much money to qualify for public assistance, but don’t make enough to afford traditional and expensive educational enrichment programs from week to week.
This addresses our area school districts specific goals and desire for programs to, “make enhancements that will achieve specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-limited objectives.”
Our parent organization OpenGate Urban Initiatives has 7 years worth of experience offering this type of data driven, caring, and ambitious programming. We have served families, in some of the most trying times as an organization. Whether it has been, when our community and facility was directly hit by the 2019 tornadoes or navigating our way through COVID19 to offer the same quality programming our families had come to expect through thoughtful and innovative ways.
Our organizational skills and strengths currently include a full time administrative and operational staff that prepare in our off season for the 10-11 week span when we are directly serving children. Our partnerships with area businesses, religious organizations and local governments provide a vast network of partnerships that help facilitate our mission.
The cost of the spring camp is $25 for the week and will run from April 3 to April 7.
